What is Osetopathy?
Osteopathy is a hands on approach using massage, mobilization, manipulation, stretching, myofascial and craniosacral techniques to help with most ailments that affect muscles, joints and connective tissues in the body. Osteopathic treatment aims to optimize the body’s structure to enable it to function to the best of its ability.
How are Osteopath’s different to Physiotherapists and Chiropractors?
An osteopath can look after any of the conditions a physiotherapist or chiropractor does but the approach is often different. Our osteopaths will spend quality time with each individual not only with hands on therapy but at the same time addressing postural or ergonomic problems, dietary concerns, exercise prescription and helping with other lifestyle factors that can influence health such as stress. Osteopaths are primary health care practitioners. This means you do not need a referral from a GP however we often work in conjunction with your doctor to offer a holistic approach in the safest manner possible.
